Billionaires own these sports teams and have more than enough resources to build a stadium themselves. Instead of paying for them themselves, they go to their local politicians to have the taxpayers pay for them who go ahead and give the sports team owners the ownership rights of what we pay for. For OUR investment, what do we get in return? exorbinant ticket prices that the average fan can no longer afford, at least not on a regular basis.
How come nobody realizes this and call the owners' bluffs to move the teams. I mean do they think that if the White Sox had moved to Tampa Bay, like threatened, that the owner would be better off at the gate? Any major city should have no worry about whether or not they will keep a team. Any owner would love the fan base, if abandoned. People of the cities, counties, and states where proposed new stadiums are expected to go up should get together and vote no. Besides that, the politicians who allow it, should be brought up on charges for fraud.
